Michigan Technological University’s Confocal (Laser-Scanning) Imaging Core Facility (CICF) is a member of the Applied Chemical and Morphological Analysis Laboratory, a University core facility. As such the Confocal Microscope is available to all campus users (including undergraduate and graduate students, postdoc researchers and faculty members) who have been trained and authorized to use the equipment.
Michigan Tech CICF is located in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Building, room S012 (subbasement). Currently, the Olympus FluoViewTM FV1000 is available in our facility.
The Cell Culture Laboratory in ChemSci S012 is a Biosafety Level 1/Biosafety Level 2 facility. (View the Safety Inspection Report.) It is dedicated to cell work only. No bacterial or viral work is allowed! All cell transfections, tissue fixations, and other cell/tissue manipulations should be done outside the facility.
The Applied Chemical and Morphological Analysis Laboratory (ACMAL) is a University Core Facility which is part of the Materials Characterization & Fabrication Facilities.
ACMAL houses an extensive array of electron microanalytical and X-ray instruments. ACMAL is managed by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
