Cell Culture Lab and CICF

Last modified November 18, 2014.

Outside users must be affiliated with a campus group to use the instrument.

Users who fail to follow the reservation policy might lose the privilege to use the instrument.

  • The Confocal Microscope and the Cell Culture Lab have SEPARATE reservation calendars.
  • Reservations are required. No walk-ins are permitted.
  • Reserve the instrument up to two weeks in advance.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. A penalty fee of half an hour may be charged if the instrument was idle during your appointed time.
  • To facilitate the appropriate use of the facility, DO NOT book the Biosafety Cabinet for extended period of time unless all requested time is necessary for a hands-on experiment. Break a reservation into segments if repetitive procedures must be carried out during the same day.

Reservations involve creating an event in YOUR Google Calendar, and then “inviting” the Google Resource called:

  • CICF-Microscope (ChemSci S012) to reserve the Confocal Microscope
  • CICF-Biosafety Cabinet (ChemSci S012) to reserve the Cell Culture Lab/Biosafety Cabinet

You must be logged into your GMAIL account at Michigan Tech to do this.
